TSR&TP
Seeks New Associate Directors
|
With the recent return of TSR&TP's Associate Director for the northern campuses, Jim Hunt, to the mundane worlds of teaching, research, and committee service, and the planned resignation next year of Arthur Winer, our Associate Director for the southern campuses, we are looking for some volunteers.
What Do TSR&TP Associate Directors Do?
- Serve as active members of the TSR&TP Executive Committee and assist the Director in implementing policies defined by the Executive Committee
- Promote the visibility of the program on their representative campuses and on the sister campuses in their region
- Extend the program into new areas by funding new research through minigrants and matching funds, support conferences, workshops, symposia, and other activities to enhance interest in TSR&TP priority areas, and help develop new programs that they deem relevant to the mission of the TSR&TP
- Associate Directors are given an annual budget to fund their activities, the amount of which is negotiated with the Director and is dependent upon approval from the Executive Committee
The TSR&TP is seeking to develop an internal procedure for an orderly succession from the present Director to new leadership. One or both of the new Associate Directors should ideally have an interest and qualifications in eventually assuming leadership of the TSR&TP.
