The Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) of the California Environmental Protection Agency (Cal/EPA) and the Southern California Particle Center and Supersite (SCPCS) at UCLA are pleased to announce a meeting on Issues in the Assessment of Health Impacts of Gasoline Emissions in California. The meeting will be held at the UCLA Faculty Center on June 12-13, 2001. This meeting is a follow up to a similar meeting held at OEHHA in Oakland in June 2000. Topic areas include:
- Characterization of emissions from gasoline-powered mobile sources in California
- Source apportionment of gasoline-related substances
- Exposure assessment of gasoline-related substances
- Carbonyl compounds as an exposure concern for gasoline-related sources
- Toxicology and health effects of gasoline emissions

The meeting will be relatively small, with 18 expert speakers and 80-100 attendees in a classroom-style setting. Panel discussions on the meeting topics will close each day. A general session will discuss issues of research design and future research needs.

A block of rooms at the Doubletree Hotel will be held until May 14th for the Gasoline Meeting.
If you want to stay at one of these hotels, please make your reservations directly with the hotel and early as space is limited. When making reservations at the Doubletree by May 14, ask for Gasoline Meeting group or government rate. If you request government rates at the Doubletree, you will be required to show employee identification and a tax exemption form upon check-in.
Parking on-campus is $6 per day. Parking permits for Lot 2, nearest the Faculty Center, are available at the kiosk just south of the Faculty Center (#40 on the UCLA map). To reach the parking kiosk, enter the campus turning west onto Westholme Avenue from Hilgard Avenue. The kiosk will be on the right.
